EMELI SANDE is Queen of collaborations after her latest track with Labrinth went to No1 in the UK charts yesterday.
The Scots singer, who has just got married, hit the top spot after appearing on last week’s X Factor results show with Labrinth and their duet Beneath Your Beautiful.
The single’s success means last week’s charttopper, fellow Scot and King of collaborations Calvin Harris, had to make do with third place in the chart.
Emeli, 25, said of the song’s success: “This week needs to be celebrated. What should I do? How do you guys celebrate?”
For Aberdeenshire-raised Emeli, it proves that the singer is hot property, with a variety of artists clamouring to work with her.
Emeli appears to be able to do no wrong after penning songs with Cher Lloyd, Parade, Susan Boyle, Gabrielle, Leona Lewis, Alesha Dixon, Cheryl Cole and Tinie Tempah.
As well as playing Glasgow’s SECC on November 6, Emeli will also be at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh on April 1.
A deal with Mastercard means Emeli is giving a chunk of the ticket sales to music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins.
She said: “Because of my background in medicine and my love of music and the music therapy Nordoff Robbins do, it’s a special charity to me.”
